What is parent education?

New challenges arise daily for parents. Parent education is an approach which instills confidence in parents and gives parents the research-based tools to tackle any situation. Kris will work with you to discuss particular challenges or goals, and then provide guidance and tools to help you parent more confidently.

M. Ed, Licensed Parent Educator, Coach & Consultant.

25 years experience.

Kris (Shelley) Schmidt has worked as a licensed parent educator for both the Edina Public Schools and Minneapolis Public Schools for over 22 years. Kris has experience working with parents with children of all ages; infants, preschool, elementary, middle, high school, and beyond. She is trained in Conscious Discipline and certified in Positive Discipline. Kris is also well-known for her workshops on talking with your kids about sexuality.

Our office is conveniently located in Southwest Minneapolis. Can’t make it into the office? No worries – we’ve got you covered with virtual sessions or Kris can come to you.
